Adventures in Garage Saling

My neice McKenzie and I have a tradition of garage saling together.  We've done it for probably 15 years now, at least a couple times during the summer we spend a morning checking out the sales.  We've seen a lot of junk but we've gotten some really cool stuff too.  Mainly we just have a lot of fun.

McKenzie bought me this little wind chime at a garage sale when she was about six years old for 25 cents because she knew I liked sunflowers.  I still have it hanging in one of my trees.

I got these two parakeets at a garage sale for $5 a couple years ago.  I asked the stupidest question, "does the cage come with them?"   No, you have hold them in your hand...duh... George was the welcoming committee when I brought them home.  Clyde was a fairly good sport about me bringing home more pets ("You bought WHAT at a garage sale?!?")  But then he built them a cool stand to hang their cage up high, safe from the cats.  They're happy little birds.

There was the time that Kenzie test drove a go cart at a sale a few years ago...didn't buy it but it was fun.

On our last garage saling adventure I found some cute bags and some things for our travel trailer for super cheap!

Kenzie bought a really nice dog bed for $7

and a cool clock/temperature gauge and tupperware container.

We got our exercise walking up and down some steep hills, enjoyed a beautiful morning and scored some bargains.  Good times...
