Towel "Cakes"

I saw this cool idea for a towel "cake" and with two bridal showers back to back, it was perfect timing to try it out!

 

This was my first attempt. 

This one is for Casse and I think it turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself.

 

  Here's how I made the one for Corinna...

It starts with buying 2 bath towels, 2 (or 3) hand towels and 2 wash clothes and approximated 527 straight pins. (at least that's how many pins I think I used to put it all together)

Fold the first bath towel length wise and start rolling

Fold the next bath, overlap it and keep rolling.  I used straight pins to secure the ends.

For the hand towels I wrapped it around a roll of toilet paper and used more straight pins to secure the ends.

Top layer...I used a third hand towel and the wash clothes.  And more pins...

Stack 'em all up and decorate with ribbon and fabric flowers.

Pretty cool, eh?
